1. Ensure you have (a) a headset or (b) a microphone and headphones/speakers; if you and the person you're speaking to have a webcam, you can also see each other.
2. Click here to open up a new page.
3. Follow the instructions to download and install Skype.
4. If applicable, click "Don't have a Skype name?", fill in the relevant details and click "Sign in".
5. To allow friends to phone you, click here to specify your Skype name.
6. Enter your Skype name and click "Save Changes".
7. Close the "Phone (Skype) Details" page/tab to return to the phone page/tab.
8. Online friends who have specified a Skype name will be visible: click "Phone me!" to speak to them.
